Problem:  The Groupwise webaccess page will not display.  (Using AOL, Compuserver, or Earthlink Internet Service Providers)

Solution:  If you're a subscriber to one of these internet providers, you may have difficulties with WebAccess.  The workaround is to:

  1. Sign on to your ISP.
  2. Minimize the ISP's software window.
  3. Start Internet Explorer or Firefox browser.
  4. Browse GroupWise WebAccess page and log in.

Problem:  When logging onto WebAccess you get the error "Invalid or missing cookie(s). Your administrator requires that cookies be used to secure your session. Please contact your administrator if you need further assistance." and you are unable to log on after multiple attempts.

Solution1:  Try entering your username and password multiple times. 

Solution2:  You must enable cookies in the browser you are using:


 

Problem:  When logging onto WebAccess you get the error "Invalid or missing cookie(s). Your administrator requires that cookies be used to secure your session. Please contact your administrator if you need further assistance." and you are able to log on your second or third attempt.

Solution:  Follow these instructions to set Internet Explorer to always accept cookies from our web mail server:

  1. Go to Tools > Internet Options

     
  2. Click on the Privacy Tab
     
  3. Click the "Sites" Button

     
  4. In the Address of Website box type https://mail.tampagov.net and hit "Allow"


 


 

 

Problem:  Using Internet Explorer you often get the error "Your login is not current. Please log in again".

Solution:  Modify your Internet Explorer settings:

  1. Go to Tools and select Internet Options.

  2. Click on the Settings button in the Temporary Internet files section. 

     
  3. Where it says, "Check for newer versions of stored pages", select the first radio button "Every visit to the page." *

  4. Click OK to close the Settings dialog box. 
  5. Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog.

This setting will force Internet Explorer to do a complete refresh every time it encounters a page and eliminates the problem.

*"Automatically" is the default setting and is a design flaw in Internet Explorer that causes the frequent login request problem.
